Here are just a few of the locations used in Game of Thrones:
- Ballintoy Harbour is where Theon Greyjoy arrives back in the Iron Islands and where he first meets his sister Yara.
- Ballintoy Rocky Beach is the fictional Dragonstone and where Theon was baptised in the name of the Drowned God.
- Cushendun Caves transformed into Storm’s End, the spot where Davos Seaworth and Lady Melisandre landed, and birthplace of the shadow baby
- Murlough Bay was the setting for Theon’s awkward horse ride with sister Yara, and also the place where Davos is rescued from The Fingers by a passing ship.
- Larrybane was Storm’s End the ancestral seat of House Baratheon and the setting for the imposing fortress where Renly resided and Brienne of Tarth was introduced in a tournament.
- Downhill Strand is where the burning of the seven old gods on Dragonstone was filmed
- The Dark Hedges is a striking avenue of arched beech trees near Armoy. In the world of Westeros, this becomes the treacherous King’s Road, where Arya disguised herself as a boy to avoid capture on the road to Winterfell.
- Shillanavogy Valley near Slemish Mountain is the location for our first meeting with the Khal and his future Khaleesi, Shillanavogy Valley was used to recreate the Dothraki grasslands.
